Alba Duarte is a lawyer specialized in International Trade with 16 years of experience in the area, working for both the public and private sector.

While working for the Brazilian Government in the Trade Remedies Department of the Foreign Trade Secretariat, where she spent almost a decade, Alba coordinated and conducted several investigations into dumping and safeguards, and supported investigations of subsidies and circumvention as well.

Alba also took part in debates on the Negotiating Group of the Rules of the World Trade Organization – WTO and in the Negotiating Group of the Regional Regime of Safeguards of the Latin American Integration Association – ALADI.

She contributed directly to the update of the Brazilian Antidumping Legislation, published in 2013, and assisted the regulatory sector in developing internal procedures, standardization of documents and publication of the Department’s Annual Reports.

In the Private Sector, Alba worked on the Petrochemical Industry for 6 years, where she coordinated anti-dumping cases and represented companies of different businesses in Federal Government Agencies and Class Entities on matters of trade remedy measures and international trade.

Alba has been widely recognized for her significant professional experience in International Trade matters. She has given workshops on the theme in different regions of Brazil at the invitation of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and other regional associations.
